In a move that had huge repercussions on the automobile industry, the Supreme Court banned the sale of Bharat Stage III vehicles with effect from April 1 2017.The verdict sought a ban on sale and registration of BS III-compliant vehicles from April 1, resulting in the implementation of BS IV emission standards. While a lot of passenger vehicle makers shifted to producing BS IV-compliant vehicles, two-wheeler, three-wheeler and commercial vehicle manufacturers still continued to produce BS III vehicles. But, before we get into statistics, what do these emission standards really mean?
Bharat stage emission standards are emission standards instituted by the Government of India to keep a check on the pollutant levels emitted by vehicles that use combustion engines and normalize the productivity of air pollutants from internal combustion engine equipment. It takes years for automakers to develop a new kind of an engine or to tweak around with the current ones used in their vehicles.
How can Autograde help you with this? Autograde’s speed governors automatically regulate vehicle speed by controlling the fuel flow. It lowers the speed, reducing fuel consumption drastically. This improves fuel economy and enables optimum performance of the engine, minimizing exhaust gases and reducing air pollution. Our products ensure you not only save the vehicle, but save the environment as well!
